Dandelions for your hair?

Beautiful hair starts at "the roots!"

While dandelions aren't a magic cure for hair loss, they have long been appreciated in herbal traditions for their vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant properties that can help support overall scalp health. That's why we love incorporating freeze-dried dandelions into our natural hair care routines.

Why Freeze-Dried Dandelions?

Freeze drying helps preserve the plant's natural color, nutrients, and beneficial compounds without exposing them to high heat. It's one of our favorite ways to enjoy dandelions year-round.

DIY Dandelion Hair Tonic

Try this simple botanical hair tonic at home!

You'll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons freeze-dried dandelion root
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 2 cups distilled water

Directions:

  1. Add the freeze-dried dandelion root and rosemary to a small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the distilled water and simmer for 20 minutes
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  5. Pour into a spray bottle and refrigerate.

How to Use:

Spray directly onto your scalp and massage gently with your fingertips. Use after washing your hair or anytime your scalp needs a little refresh. The gentle massage helps stimulate circulation while the botanical ingredients help nourish your scalp.

A Little Scalp Love Goes a Long Way

Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet, managing stress, and using gentle hair care products can all help support your hair's natural beauty.

We love dandelions because they remind us that some of nature's most overlooked treasures can offer wonderful benefits. Whether you're sipping dandelion tea, enjoying dandelion lemonade, or treating your scalp to a homemade botanical tonic, you're giving this cheerful little flower the appreciation it deserves.

Happy crafting,
The Field Flower Botanicals Team 🌼
