Dandelion Root Coffee

Because Adulting is Hard and Caffeine Isn't Always Invited

Let's be honest - to some of us coffee is an addiction we cannot let go of.

But sometimes your body says "hey... maybe not today."

That is where dandelion root coffee walks in like the calm grounded friend who drinks herbal tea, works out like a champ, their kid's hair is always brushed, and has their life together.

The best part? You can easily make it yourself, especially if you have freeze-dried dandelion roots (aka the overachiever of herbal prep).

You are probably thinking "Wait... Dandelions? Like the backyard kind?"

The same "weeds" that try to take over your lawn are actually little golden powerhouses of sunshine.

Dandelion root has been used forever for:

- Supporting digestion

- Supporting liver health

- Being a caffeine-free alternative to coffee

- Making you feel slightly more put-together :-)

Why Freeze-Dried Roots are a Game Changer

If you are using freeze-dried dandelion root, you're already winning

- More nutrients are preserved

- Flavor stays richer and less bitter

- Longer shelf life (no sad, stale herbs here!)

- Ready to use - no digging up your yard required

Basically, it is the "I have my life together" version of dandelion root.

How to Make Dandelion Root Coffee

What You'll Need:

* 1-2 teaspoons freeze dried dandelion root

* 1 cup water

* Optional: cinnamon, honey, maple syrup or milk

Step-by-Step

1. Lightly soak freeze dried roots in warm water for 10 minutes

2. Drain well and pat dry

3. Roast at 325-350 degrees for 15-25 minutes until deep brown

(This results in richer, deeper coffee-like flavor.)

4. Bring water to a boil

5. Add your freeze dried dandelion root. Reduce heat and let simmer about 10-15 minutes. (yes, patience, I know.)

6. Strain (Unless you enjoy chewing your coffee. No judgement.)

7. Customize it (Add maple syrup, frothed coconut milk, etc.)

What does it taste like? It's earthy, slightly nutty and gently bitter - kind of like coffee's chill cousin who cares. No caffeine crash. No jitters. Just smoooooooth grounded energy that supports your body instead of stressing it out.

Dandelion root coffee isn't about replacing your morning cup - it's about having options.

Some days you need espresso. Some days you need peace. And some days, you need a warm mug of something earthy, nourishing, and just a little bit magical.

P.S. If you're using high quality freeze-dried dandelion roots (like ours :-) you'll notice a smoother flavor and better results every time.
